Monthly NDVI Ranking by pixel

This map shows the monthly ranking of NDVI by municipio for the period between the year 2000 and the present. Each month (in each pixel) was arranged according to its monthly NDVI value obtaining the ranking map shown here.

The values are between 1 and 16, corresponding to the length of the timeseries. The value 16 represents the driest month of the series (compared with the same month in the 16 years of data) for each pixel.

Monthly NDVI Ranking by pixel

MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) was launched by NASA aboard the Earth Observing System (EOS) satellite Terra on December 18, 1999. A second MODIS instrument was launched May 4, 2002 on the EOS-Aqua platform. With both instruments in operation, MODIS provides a morning and afternoon view with global, near-daily repeat coverage.
